When Steve unsuccessfully vies for Stan's attention, he and the others learn that Stan has secretly been building his dream car, a DeLorean DMC-12, for the last six years, but it is missing one vital part: the gull-wing passenger door. Steve locates the missing part via craigslist, and he and his dad set out for Albuquerque. On the way, they awkwardly try to bond as father and son, but encounter a series of mishaps, including their SUV being totaled and Stan losing his wallet (and pants). Fortunately, Stan is able to call in a couple of favors from the CIA, which results in him getting a new pair of pants and them getting the DeLorean he had in storage.
